Senior Regional Sales Manager
Job Description:
This role offers a challenging and exciting opportunity for an ambitious and entrepreneurial sales professional to drive the growth of this impressive business through the East African region. Core Tasks:

• Collaborate with the Heads of Wholesale & Business to Business for ZANTEL Business and cross-functional teams in developing sales strategy and tactical goals to ensure the long term viability of such and translate and articulate such strategies and goals within the territory.

• Drive the implementation of strategic and tactical plans within the territory, continuously monitoring and evaluating sales performance and taking the appropriate corrective action as required.
• Create and manage ZANTEL’s existing and future sales revenue and cash targets with client’s, territory & region as define from time to time.
• Develop account strategies for the region.
• This will be a one man-show in the beginning that requires a strong candidate that will hit the ground running. You will define and agree territorial specific targets with the Head of Wholesale & B2B with the aim to increase capacity, service and product sales and market share.
• Responsible and accountable for sales deals, sales revenue, profitability (TCV & Cash) and for managing and developing & leading a sales team to secure ZANTEL’s existing and future sales revenue with specific clients/country/region.
• Drive the sales deal funnel/pipeline management, deal approval & derive the deal qualification process.
• Provide leadership for sales and ensure that the sales process works efficiently, bringing value to the client’s and ZANTEL Business.
• Based on the business, hire, effectively manage and lead the performance of sales resources within the territory according to Company HR policies and procedures.
• Assist Head of Wholesale & B2B to Work with Group Heads of Wholesale B2B, products, Marketing, Sales, Factory and commercial for the day-to- day management and develop of in country resources within those respective teams.
• Primary interface with Factory for alignment within specific clients/country region.
• Own the client relationship and assume responsibility for relationship strategy and coordination of ZANTEL Business contacts with the client in alignment with the client relationship strategies; identify key decision makers at the highest levels of the client organization (owners, board, CXO) and involvement of ZANTEL management.
• Build and maintain excellent personal client relationships.
• Lead and drive performance of sales resources through inspirational and effective leadership practices.
• Ensure the sales resources have sufficient and up-to- date information.
• As & when required, build and manage a high performing sales team by effectively managing performance on a regular basis driving team members, development and building future sales capacity and leadership within the region.
• Effectively and expediently manage low morale and poor performance within the sales team by taking appropriate action as required.
• Assist the legal department to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for territory as required.
• Promote a culture that reflects the organization’s values, encourages goods performance, and rewards results.
• Regularly and effectively evaluate sales performance in the region and take appropriate action as required.
• Collaborate with the Chief Sales Office, Heads of Sales, Service Provider and ZANTEL Business, to understand and articulate the organization’s vision and to develop sales strategies in collaboration with the ZANTEL management for achieving that vision in the assigned region /territories.
• Cover an internal practices and sub processes for sales execution and managing territories and accounts (e.g. territorial strategy, account strategy, demand planning, project execution, sales process implementation etc) and people working in the team.

Key Responsibilities:
• Sales leadership & Management – lead and manage the regional sales to achieve business opportunities and development objectives.
• Business Planning & Financial Management – create and manage ZANTEL’s and future sales revenue and cash targets with clients, territory and region as defined from time to time. Develop account and pricing strategies for the territory & region.
• Marketing, PR & Community Relationship- management with the assistance of the marketing team.
• General Administrative Management – where applicable.

Other Skills and Knowledge:
• Education - Degree or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution, MBA (advantages): 7+ Years experiences in a Senior capacity sales role.
• Skills and knowledge – ICT business (Fibre Optics submarine &backhaul). Negotiation skills, Financial awareness, People management, Networking skills, high EQ, business planning with appropriate tools (Excel business cases, firm understanding of commercial negotiation and contract drafting).
• Languages –English, Swahili will be a plus.
• Travel Requirements – Africa.

Procurement Director (Zantel)
Job Description:

Procurement Director will lead all procurement activities. The Director will ensure that all purchase requirements are captured, and that supplier selection and supplier management, and transactional procurement are executed properly.
• Procurement Planning
o Define procurement savings potential to inform and challenge stakeholders
o Regularly connect with stakeholders to capture their individual purchase requirements and business objectives. Challenge requirements where appropriate.
o Ensure development and regular update of procurement plans in each category
o Align procurement plans with internal clients
o Supervise execution of the procurement plan and report monthly and annual results: savings, lead time, compliance
• Departments Management & Sourcing
o Understand the Company spend and the overall business priorities in each functional domain
o Collaborate with the department teams to fine-tune their departmental strategies and strategy execution, in best support of their requirements and priorities
o Act as a filter for signing and approving of purchases, as member of procurement committee(s)
o Oversee the negotiation of contracted goods and services, i.e. those not covered by the global category teams, and lead a selected number of major or most critical local sourcing initiatives
• Supplier Relationship Management
o Oversee the quality handover of supply agreements from Procurement to internal users
o Oversee the professional management of supplier contracts across departments and ensure regular business review meetings with the main suppliers that serve the Company.
o Directly engage with the most important suppliers to ensure them meeting SLAs and continuous improvement of their performance.
• Transactional procurement
o Oversee and ensure an effective and efficient local request-to-pay process, in accordance to the Zantel & Millicom policies and authority levels
1. Master Degree in Supply Chain Management.
2. Procurement Certification
3. Registration with Tanzania Procurement Board (PSPTB)
4. More than 8 years of experience in procurement activities
5. More than 5 years of experience in team management
6. Knowledge & experience of the requirements and supplier markets for telecommunication operators
7. Awareness of available suppliers in Tanzania and abroad

To ensure achievement of sales objectives in the region and correct implementation of company strategy through adequate coordination of distributors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply sales objectives by product set in budget.
  • Coordinate sales teams in order to comply objectives applying correct procedures.
  • Assure correct implementation of sales and marketing strategies.
  • Assure methodical coaching to sales teams.
  • Evaluate permanently diverse ways of captioning new customers.
  • Review and analyse weekly sales of areas and assigned distributors by region.
