GTM Specialist: AMB & Merchants Jobs


Airtel Tanzania is looking for the experienced candidate in Airtel Money who will be responsible for supporting the championing and overseeing the crafting of Airtel money Branch, Merchants, and product innovation roadmap while ensuring the development and testing of high quality, high-value products and services that can be successfully marketed to consumers differentiating Airtel from competitors. This role is also responsible for working closely with key cross-functional operations teams – Sales & Distribution, Customer Service, IT and Network in ensuring customer, agent and merchants issues are addressed in a timely fashion and fully resolved to maintain a superior customer, agent and merchants experience. The person will be reporting to Business Development Manager, Airtel Money.

Key Qualifications, skills, and impacts:

  • Bachelors in Marketing, Finance, Business, Commerce Administration or Equivalent
  • Airtel Money consumer products active customers, transaction volumes, transaction values, and revenues.
  • End-to-end product development and delivery of Airtel Money consumer products and enabling processes or operations.
  • Knowledge transfer of new products to internal stakeholders as appropriate.
  • The pilot of new product features to be carried out to agreed plans, and stakeholders updated.
  • Agreed Airtel Money roadmap in place, reviewed at least quarterly with Group and internal stakeholders.
  • Proactive communication for any product related issues.
  • Weekly reports by every Friday 5 p.m, Monthly reports by 5th of every month
  • Business Review and Adhoc report as may be required.
  • Commercially astute – solid understanding of market, competitor & customer
  • Strategically oriented – solid understanding of the integrated set of products and services included within the Airtel Money portfolio; able to identify opportunities for Airtel and define and implement these opportunities into reality.

Experience Requirements:

  • 1-year experience in product development and marketing
  • 2 years working experience

Deliverables:

1. Support the implementation of a strong product strategy for the Airtel Money proposition.

  • Support Airtel Money Branch, Merchants and consumer products Go to the market and all services other than Traditional P2P and cash out.
  • Assist in the development of a portfolio of complex Airtel Money products and enablers both domestically and internationally, actively tracking and developing new ideas.
  • Proactively research and investigate functionality suitable for the local market and discuss with key stakeholders to obtain buy-in.
  • Manage the Airtel Money consumer services development roadmap working with all technical and commercial teams with the aim of launching approved services.
  • Participate in new product concept brainstorming meetings.
  • Ensure defined use cases and product requirements are correctly implemented by the technical team
  • Assist business development teams or any other teams in developing sector-specific products in line with Airtel consumer segments

2. Drive superior commercial results and financial returns

  • Assist in engagement with the stakeholders – Group and Tanzania to strengthen commercial and financial analysis in roadmap decision and implementing products & enablers.
  • Follow-up with marketing team to closely tie-in commercial and financial analysis to data analytics insights.
  • Feedback learning into product strategies lifecycle and reviews, communicating improvement to the executive team.
  • Assist in defining and driving adoption of strong commercial and sound financial analysis, for new and existing products, including support of new commercial launches.
  • Drive dissemination of learning and results from the Airtel Money and competition, leveraging as and when required Airtel Money Group resources.
  • Analyze market trends, technology trends in mobile financial services planning.

3. Support consumer product development, integrations, testing, deployment, pilot and launch of new products.

  • Support in engagement with stakeholders – Group and Tanzania leadership to support investment decision and assess commercial opportunity as well as Tanzania readiness (including regulatory and senior management buy-in).
  • Support coordination of cross-functional internal and external user acceptance tests for new products and/or product enhancements and attain sign off for the same.
  • Assist to launch and scale (products & service, distribution, business processes, contracts, compliance…).
  • Follow up with the technology program management function in all consumer-related matters, including managing expectations.
  • Liaise with marketing to implement a company-wide go to market plan, working with all departments to execute.

4. Operational support of cross-functional business operations.

  • Monitor and ensure adherence to set service level agreements (SLAs) with shared services – Sales, Marketing, IT, Customer Service and Network sections to the set standards.
  • Track and monitor the performance of shared services sections to ensure set targets are met, e.g. sales, marketing, usage and retention initiatives, advertising, sales, marketing, technical support, supply chain, legal and regulatory and customer service.

5. Team and Stakeholder Engagement.

  • Prepare appropriate commercial reporting and representation of portfolio performance.
  • Provide required product reports as input to the Airtel money weekly, monthly report, including roadmaps and performance against target dates.
  • Undertake other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
